CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF GRANITE
All stones are porous. We treat the surface with a proprietary sealer that penetrates the surface and fills the microscopic voids between the crystals. This is first done at our factory at the completion of manufacture and again following instalation. However if you should spill substances such as red wine, vinegar, fruit juice, beetroot or cooking oil, these should be wiped immediately.
We recommend that granite be sealed yearly but this is a quick 5 minute process which you can easily do yourself. Sealer is available from our factory. Whilst granite is very durable we strongly recommend that care is taken around areas of weakness such as hob cut-outs, and under no circumstances should these areas be stood upon.
